Speaker: David Purdie

A talk on his background and his current landscape photography.

David has a lot to say about AI and will show examples. He will talk about why we take photographs and decisions about what to take and what to keep, plus some post processing

Pre-Christmas Meeting

This will be a Club judged competition

Bring up to two PDIs or Prints (any size) with a photographic interpretation of a famous painting. Can be set up or taken by chance, and as literal or as abstract as you like. Provide the name of the painting/s plus give your own title if you wish.

Judging will take place by everyone in the room and we hope you enjoy this fun creative challenge, which can be as literal or abstract as you like. Having this information early should give you time to find inspiration over the summer and the start of next season for your image

ABRIDGED RULES OF COMPETITIONS

GENERAL

• Print entries must have a provided label on the back

• Entries must be titled

• A picture may be entered into club competitions in ONE form only - colour print or mono print or small print or PDI, send PDIs to: images.rdcc@gmail.com

No member may submit more than 2 entries per category

in internal competition (unless otherwise stated).

No entry may be entered in more than one internal competition except Print or PDI of the Year competitions. They may however be entered into competitions with other clubs.

The 'A' list is those members who have achieved 1st or 2nd place in a club competition during the previous season. They are not eligible to enter the Douglas Moss Trophy competitions. The 'B' list consists of all other members and are eligible to enter the Douglas Moss Trophy competitions

and all other club competitions.

PRINTS - Size of mount for any print - 50cms. x 40cms. Max. size of image for small print - A4 size.

DIGITAL IMAGES - JPEG format, max. quality. sRGB colour space.

Landscape format - image max. 1920 pixels wide and no more than 1200 high.

Portrait format - image max. 1200 pixels high.

IMAGE FILE NAMING - The image file name must be in the following format:

(Example) A COLD WET DAY.jpg.

The TITLE of the image is in CAPITAL letters.

The full rules are on the website or full rules and constitution booklet are available for every member from the Treasurer. In the event of a dispute the Chairman's decision is final
