Monday 22nd September - Speaker Helen Taylor

A talk on composition and the arrangement of visual elements within the frame to create and aesthetically pleasing images, including how to emphasis certain elements to draw the eye, or not as the case may be. Plus how to plan and present print panels

A talk about her career, which started with photographing the late Queen

c) Roy Stubbs Monochrome Trophy - Print - Subject: ‘Portraits’

Monday 17th November - Speaker: Alma Leaper

The story of her photography and work with the Big Cat Sanctuary Smarden

Monday 1st December - 3rd Club Competition

a) Gostrow Colour Print Trophy - Subject: ‘The Seasons’

c) PDI - Subject: ‘Where I live (inside, outside, around)’

Monday 15th December - Pre-Christmas Meeting

This will be a Club judged competition

Bring up to two PDIs or Prints (any size) representing the title of a book or film, or the words of a poem or song.

Judging will take place by everyone in the room and we hope you enjoy this fun creative challenge, which can be as literal or abstract as you like. Having this information early should give you time to find inspiration over the summer and the start of next season for your image

Monday 5th January - Speaker & Tuition: Norman Ferguson ‘Landscapes and Wildlife from Here and There’

Plus editing tuition (possibly via YouTube) and discussion

Monday 19th January - 4th Club Competition

a) Print - Subject: ‘Light’

b) Roy Stubbs Monochrome Trophy - Print - Subject: Open

c) PDI - Subject: ‘Decay’

Judge - Cherry Larcombe

Monday 2nd February - Activity for All

Members are invited to present a Print or PDI and talk about their image, describing what they intended and what they like about it

a) Print Panel (One Panel Per Member, please) - Subject: Open (3-6 Prints per Panel)

b) PDI - Subject: ‘Wildlife’

Monday 2nd March - Activity lead by Helen Taylor

All members who wish to take part to edit a single RAW image at home in advance of the meeting (cropping, using different treatments etc.) Results will be projected as .Jpg images at the meeting. Helen Taylor to lead discussions and observations from all members.
